Belize does not require citizenship or blood test but both parties must be over 18 years to apply for marriage license. For regular marriage license, both parties must be in the country 3 days prior to filing the petition of the license. There is a special marriage license available for parties wishing to marry sooner for an additional fee. Other requirements are, application forms must be signed by both parties, verified by affidavit, and accompanied by the applicant’s identity documents (i.e. certified copies of applicants passport .etc). All supporting documents required such as for parties where one or both parties are divorced, should be originals or certified copies with raised seal. For parties where one or both parties are widowed, documents should be the original death certificate or certified copy.
